Learning to point and click without a mouse

Keyboard-driven mouse tools like mouseless.click overlay your screen with short key labels. Type a label and the cursor jumps there; another key clicks. The first days feel slow — every action is a tiny aiming problem your hands haven't memorized yet.

What actually helps is boring, deliberate repetition: short drills that isolate one skill at a time, the same way touch-typing trainers did for the keyboard itself. Aim at small targets, then smaller ones. Practice the UI patterns you hit all day — tab bars, form fields and inline links exactly like this paragraph.

Speed follows accuracy, not the other way around. Track your accuracy per session, keep it above ninety percent, and only then push for faster times. If you want to go deeper, read about Fitts's law — the model behind target size and distance — and browse a gallery of keyboard-first workflows for inspiration.

Click each link once. Clicks on the text around them count as misses.
